Front Porch Decorating Ideas for Fall

large black and white vertical welcome sign with bench with owl and sunflower pillows and 3 wooden pumpkin decor

Welcome Guests by Decorating Your Front Porch With Seasonal Décor

Make that first impression one that is both welcoming and celebratory of the season by adding just the right autumn décor to your front porch. Change out summer’s airy brights and floral blooms for fall’s rich colors and harvest inspirations. Remember that Halloween and Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, and today’s fall décor ideas will transition nicely into those holidays.

When you add a wooden accent bench to your front porch, you have an elevated place to put your fall décor while adding the gorgeous texture of wood and autumn ambiance.

A wood porch bench with two sunflower pillows, and three black metal circle candle holders with lit candles.

While you might not think of your front porch as a place for lounging about, the versatility of outdoor accent pillows, with vibrant sunflowers or wise owls, cannot be denied. They are an ideal way to help create your fall look, and when placed on an accent bench, they seem to be a perfect fit.

As seasons change, consider changing your outdoor welcome sign, too. It will offer a whole new look to your guests and instantly feel like a complete refresh has taken place to complement your autumn look.

Nothing says fall, quite like the perennial favorite – the pumpkin. Add a few pumpkins on your front steps or near your door to welcome guests. These will transition nicely into Halloween and Thanksgiving as well!

Fall Bicycle Front Door Mat

Switch out your entrance mat for one that features a fall scene, like a hooked pumpkin door mat that provides that signature seasonal look as guests cross your threshold. They will enjoy it coming and going!

Want a faithful canine to wait patiently for guests on your front porch? This golden retriever statue welcomes without slobbering, jumping, shedding or barking at your guests. Good dog!

Take advantage whenever you can to add the vibrant hue of orange to your porch, like with these orange bittersweet bushes that add a seasonal finishing touch.
