Spooky Halloween Front Door Decorating [Video]

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Boo! The weekend’s almost here. I’m Robin with Front Door Friday. Today, we’re getting spooky.

Get creative. Go shopping in your own yard for creepy branches. Anchor them in a bucket of sand. Who knows? Maybe you’ll wind up with a haunted forest front porch. Use big boxes, straw bales, or crates to add depth and create taller areas to decorate.

When you’re placing decorative pieces remember to cluster in odd number groups. It’s esthetically pleasing and a fool-proof decorating tip.

Making an entrance creepy is as simple as changing a light bulb. You can find all kinds of colored bulbs online or in stores. Lighting is important for a haunted front door. Use them inside luminaries and pumpkins for an eerie glow. This is a great time to get extra mileage out of your Christmas lights.

If Halloween is your thing, just add one bigger decorative piece a year. You don’t have to make a huge investment all at once. These pieces stand the test of time. Witches and ghosts never go out of style. Come a little closer. Don’t mind the cobwebs. I’ve put a spell on this door.

That’s it for this week’s Front Door Friday. I encourage you to step out and try some front door decorating this weekend. To learn more, check out the Country Door blog. I’ll see you next Friday. Happy decorating and God bless.
